SPL MOUNT RECYCLEMORE SCULPTURE IN STOCKPORT 18.jpg
The head of Yoshihide Suga, Prime Minister of Japan, part of a giant Mount Rushmore-style sculpture of the G7 leaders' heads, which is being unveiled in a public space outside of Stockport Railway Station, Greater Manchester on 21 July 2021.
Mount Recyclemore is made entirely of discarded electronics, having first appeared on a beach in Cornwall during the G7 climate summit, and is set to spend the summer in the town.
The sculpture aims to highlight the environmental threat of electronic waste, of which the UK is one of the worst global offenders.
Mount Recyclemore was created by artist Joe Rush of the Mutoid Waste Company, in partnership with Stockport based re-commerce retailer musicMagpie.
