Energy boss Greg Jackson believes that people living near wind farms, such as in Scotland, should benefit from reduced electricity costs. Jackson, the founder and CEO of Octopus, criticized the uniform electricity pricing across the UK as "crazy."
Octopus already offers discounts on bills for residents near wind farms, generating significant local interest in their construction. Recently, new Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced plans to expand onshore wind farms.
Since 2021, Octopus has received inquiries from around 30,000 individuals and communities across the UK requesting the construction of a turbine near them.
