A couple walk past 'Big Ben lying down with political books', a temporary participatory artwork, constructed in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester as part of the Manchester International Festival 2021 on 5 July 2021. The replica of Big Ben lies horizontal and is covered in over 20,000 copies of books that have shaped UK politics. The commission by Argentine artist Marta Minujin is intended to inspire new conversations about values and issues from the books within.
