The Night & Day Cafe has been part of Manchester's music scene for 30 years and has hosted a large number of acts on their rise to fame such as Elbow, Arctic Monkeys, Wet Leg and Manic Street Preachers.

A warning has been issued from the national public health agency of Scotland over a risk to health as bin strikes continue across much of the country. Public Health Scotland said people could be at risk from the build up of food, animal and human waste. The agency has issued advice to councils to "decontaminate" areas where bins have overflowed. The warning came as another day of talks to resolve the dispute ended.

In the Middle Ages rushes were gathered for strewing on the church floor and a boundary-walking procession was common. At Saddleworth, the local Morris teams revived the local tradition of gathering the rushes in a two-wheeled decorated cart and bringing them back to St Chad’s Church at Uppermill. A single 'jockey' sits atop the cart which is about 13 feet tall. The cart tours the local villages and on Sunday goes to St. Chads's Church accompanied by around a hundred Morris men from all over the country.

They head for temporary lodgings while scout bees look for somewhere safe to settle. Swarms in urban areas may rest on cars, lampposts, bicycle baskets or even windows. The warm weather encourages bees to leave the safety of the hive to find somewhere new to live.

It will be the second edition since it was expanded to 16 teams. The final tournament will be hosted by England and was originally scheduled to take place from 7 July to 1 August 2021. However, following the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe and subsequent postponements of the 2020 Summer Olympics and UEFA Euro 2020 to summer 2021, the tournament was rescheduled and will take place from 6 to 31 July 2022.

Well dressing is the art of decorating springs or wells with pictures made from natural products. Clay is pressed on to boards followed by the delicate task of infilling with flower petals and other natural materials. The blessing of the water supply in the form of a well is an ancient ceremony dating back to the Celts. The practice of decoration of wells was developed during the Victorian era and generally only found in or around Derbyshire.

Finishing touches are added to a mural of music icon Ian Curtis in Macclesfield, where the music icon grew up, in the town centre on 25 March 2022. The painting has been created by street artist Akse in memory of the Joy Division frontman, who died in 1980. The artwork is based on a photograph by Kevin Cummins and was commissioned by Cheshire East Council who said 'it has pride of place in the town'. Curtis was brought up in the town and is buried in Macclesfield Cemetery, was the lead singer of Joy Division until his death at the age of 23 in May 1980. The three surviving members of the band resolved to carry on and renamed themselves as New Order.
